yes, i know... it has been a very long time since i have posted to this blog. but i plead "having a one year old". this is to catch up from mid sept through october, hitting the high notes.
olive has gotten very good at helping.
and putting things where they belong.
she tried finger painting and...
liked it until she realized she couldn't get the red off her hands.
she wiped it everywhere trying to get it off her hands and ended in a panic until i cleaned her up and we moved onto something else. ok- some other time on the finger painting.
found her dad's gatorade while he was working and decided to bring it to him.
such a big help.
she loves exploring now. finding, touching, asking what it is, and most often ripping it up.
she is upset here because she ripped the leaf she was looking at. she is wanting me to fix it.
making faces with mom.
olive is getting into drawing. but likes to draw with the paper up. we need to get this girl a mini dry-erase board on easel or something.
like i said- she likes putting things away. i never said it was always the right place.
in love with stickers.
pulling out laundry and putting it in the hamper.
drawing...
is for big girls.
helping mom change her linens.
here ya go mom, i think this goes next.
she loves watching baby einstein's dvd's. we have one and rented some others from the library. she has learned so many words and signs from them. she just soaks up information.
olive is really into taking stuff out and putting it back in. she will do that over and over and over. she also likes having two containers and moving contents back and forth between the two. what can i say, my girl loves some repetition.
working her chalk magic.
being silly.
loves playing with this flyswatter.
our friends matt and sarah got to visit for a short while with their daughter callie. it was so much fun to see them!
as usual none of us could believe how the other's child had grown!
we laughed at how they were dressed in the same color and were the same height. "twinsies, callie!"
olive had so much fun playing with callie.
olive got her very own chair. we were at garden ridge and she kept sitting in this chair and would not leave it. so we ended up getting it. it was a great deal and how can you resist this cuteness? she is in it every day. definitely a great purchase.
olive has discovered that it is just as much fun to put stickers all over mom. she is so thoughtful when she puts them on too. very concentrated and deliberate in where she puts each and every one.
nice work little lady.
i obviously forgot to grab the pics from her first evans orchard fall festival visit. we went with the thomas family. it was so hot so olive didn't care to do too much. the next weekend the weather changed dramatically so we went back. this time we went to the petting zoo that was there. and it made her year!
we were so proud of her- no fear, but tons of giggles and excited dances as she got to pet all the animals.
olive really wants to be able to put her clothes on. she tries so hard. and if it stays, she assumes she has gotten it.
i mean... this is how you wear pants right?
loves her dad's headphones. with or without music.
sticker treatment again.
getting sooo big and into everything.
this was our third trip to evans. olive and i went one day by ourselves. we didn't go back to the petting zoo but they had goats at another part of the farm that she could pet.
walking through the apple orchard.
and next to the corn field.
taking a break to play with rocks and leaves.
they have a corn pit at evans and boy, does olive love it!
putting the medicine cup on one bottle then the other.
yeah, daddy let her eat pizza. he let her take a bite of his and she took the whole thing and wouldn't give it back. so he just got another.
umm... dad.... this is amazing.
apparently this girl loves some pizza.
again working on the clothes-on thing.
something new olive loves is taking walks down the sidewalk. she loves going out and exploring all the sites and sounds. she stops at things i would never think of.
we go a short distance but they are very LONG walks.
hey... what's this? i am going to grab it.
she loves using this stroller that boris let us have. she normally puts things like chalk and spoons and things in it. this day i put zeek in it and she took him for a ride.
monkey see... monkey do. olive loves talking on the phone when mommy does.
daniel surprised us one day and took us to a neat part of lexington for the afternoon. we looked at some little shops and had fun walking around.
then went to a crepe/gelato place that was AMAZING.
the food was so good. olive will vouch for that!
her she is pounding down some mango gelato. what a great time!
show post and november post to soon follow.
