time for a change

it is time for a change. time to get this long hair off of me.

its nice to feel like myself again. long hair is definately not me.

daniel and i have outlawed ponytails.

anyone up for golf

have i told you about my golf game? you see i am excellent at that sport. step 1- knock a golf ball under any low lying inanimate object.

step 2- freak out trying to get it yourself, trying to make yourself boneless unsuccessfully. (do not be distracted by any golf balls not in play).

step 3- cry little pitiful cries persistently all night until mom or dad give in and get it for you.

step 4- knock a golf ball under any low lying inanimate object.
man, i'm awesome at golf.

we found a church

after much searching we have found a church home. its called cedar grove baptist and we have really enjoyed the teaching, worship, and family there. we just became members and are looking forward to getting involved. we have done some really fun things through the church including arkfest, a christian rock festival, a pig roast, paintball, etc. there are some really great people there.
this shirt is from one of the bands from arkfest- knapsack heroes.

memorial day

memorial day was lots of fun. missy and brandon had us over for a cookout. mr and mrs thompson and robyn were there as well. the sun was shining, the food was yummy, and miss sonya was enjoying her pool.
after eating we got into a fierce game of bocce ball with the thompsons. it was awesome. lots of fun was had by all.

generation next

daniel was recently invited to have his work in generation next, a show put on by the lexington art league to highlight central kentucky's up-and-coming artists. he was able to put 5 pieces in, including chairs, woodcuts, etc, which i think nicely showcased his sculpture.

a local tv station contacted him to do an interview about his work and the show. which of course he accepted. his next endeavor is his major show in september which will be a major undertaking. prayers please.

fun with the thomas's

its been so much fun having missy and brandon and miss sonya in kentucky. it has been amazing seeing sonya grow and observing missy and brandon doing the parenthood thing. and its just been cool having them around in general.

we met them at the park one beautiful day for a picnic. daniel (or "guy" as sonya calls him) showed sonya how to jump on the tires. a very fun occasion for guy.

kite festival

georgetown has so many fun family oriented events and festivals. this spring they had a international kite and culture festival. there were so many families out trying their hand at kite flying and enjoying the international food. of course they also had some good ol country favorites like grilled pineapple and corn on the cob. which we were oh so glad to partake of. the day was beautiful the scene was inspiring.

quick update

well here it goes. we are creating this blog because as most of you know we weren't able to update the website as much as we would've liked to. this will be much more time efficient to keep up with and hopefully we will have updated info a lot more frequently.

to catch everyone up to speed- i have been working since sept at our local newspaper. i assist the circulation manager and business office. its a different vein than what i am used to but i enjoy the work and the people are very nice.

daniel is doing wonderfully at his job. he is enjoying teaching and influencing hungry students. he is also been a part of some great shows and is preparing for his large one man show in sept. he is a busy bee.

clover is crazy as ever. she has grown up a lot and knows when its time to be calm and when its time to play. she still loves chewing on golf balls and hunting worms in the backyard.
life is very good.
