as i mentioned before we are working on some home improvements and reorganizing space. we turned our office into an office/playroom. no full shot of it until it is done. but you can see how someone enjoys having her own space to play.
daniel decided to devote a lot of his spring break to getting some of these things done (although he could've really used a trip to tahiti. maybe next break) here he is in the beginning cutting in some walls to be painted.
he is so good at it because daniel is a master of detail work.
and he is so cute. so he has that going for him too.
he brought home the bed he made for us. no more sleeping on the floor!
olive was so very impressed.
he made it out of walnut and it turned out so very beautifully. but who would expect anything less from daniel?
john came in to town from maryland and i went to stay in a hotel for a couple of days so they could knock out the painting. i didn't want olive to get sick off of the fumes.
we were so very fortunate because mom was able to work it out so she could come stay with us in the hotel. woo hoo! here is olive waiting for here to get there. she played with toys, took off her shoes and socks, tore up some tissues... where is she?
there she is! mom was so glad to see her. she was nervous olive wouldn't know her. olive studied her for a while but it didn't take long before olive was all smiles. here they are looking at the light on mom's watch.
moo, you know how i love light!
girl's days are fun!
olive being super silly.
olive wanted to be where her gramma moo was. if she was eating, olive wanted to be eating too. here olive is eating puffs while mom eats breakfast.
olive wanted to be where mom was.
real buddies.
she was very sad to see mom leave. but that time always comes. we were just glad we were able to get a visit out of her. and so very thankful!
john and daniel did a great job painting. they also got to go bowling, eat frickles, tour georgetown and all kinds of fun things. here they are, the happy couple.
big pushy.
john catching us up with family pictures. olive says "hey this guy is so fascinating".
i like his face strings.
this dude is alright in my book.
it was so wonderful having john in kentucky. i know it was quite a trip so we so appreciated it, especially since it is so rare that we get time with him.
after all our company left, daniel got started on the hardwood laminate we are putting in the kitchen. it proved to be a lot more trouble than we anticipated, given we are using 2 different tones of wood and our house is built a little crooked here and there (which is always awesome to find out). daniel pretty much has to re-do every board so they fit properly.
he was so frustrated he only got about 1/3 of the way through before he had to call it quits for a a while. here daniel is with his cheerleader. go dad, go!
you can do it dad!
and of course clover always watches the progress. and mopes. because the progress doesn't involve her being held, petted and fed chicken.
