now she is really cookin

after watching olive's face light up while playing with sonya and judah's kitchen we decided to get her one. after much research and bargain shopping we found her a great one! daniel couldn't wait to put it together when it came in. he assembled it during her nap time so it would be done when she woke up.

surprise sleepy girl!

we put her food in the basket so her kitchen was already equipped :-)!

so you are telling me this is mine?

the kitchen came with sporks and knives, bowls and plates, and a pot and pan.

nothing like giving to your child. love seeing her smile.

the kitchen also came with a phone which is one of olive's favorite things. so she was pretty excited about that.

then daniel said "hmm... i have an idea" and got to work.

and voila- a cardboard play house for olive made out of the kitchen box.
this guy is really something.

olive at the back window.

i made her a name plate for above the door. ya know... so she knows it is hers :-).

no house is complete without lilly and books.

olive at the side window.

that night i thought i would add my touch. i drew lamps, trees, bushes and a mailbox.

while i was drawing a rose bush on the side of the house olive came over and took the marker from me and started helping.

she would hand it back and as soon as i would start drawing she would take it from me and mark on the house herself. it was a precious memory of her and i drawing together.

one of her g.i.joe's contemplating life on top of her house.

for now her house is in her room. it won't be long before the novelty has worn off. but it was a great memory while it lasted.
