daniel had surgery to remove a cyst on his chest and as a result had a series of bad days. on friday we decided to climb out of the funk by having a nice date night in lexington. yes...we will go downtown and have a quiet dinner and walk down a few blocks to have an amazing dessert that daniel had been raving about. sounds perfect.
we pack up the obs and head to lexington.
it is great walking around and enjoying the evening. until we get to our destination.
so much for dinner at the restraunt we wanted... it was loud, crowded, overpriced, and people were getting wasted. we thought, well there is a street festival just outside, it is loud but we could get some hot dogs and burgers for cheaper than this.
well it turns out it is beerfest and it is loud, crowded, overpriced and people are getting wasted.
we buy our very expensive cookout food where there is no water or napkins and try to walk a ways to a quiet area to sit and relax.
as we laugh at how ridiculous the experience and eat our questionable hot dogs olive enjoys herself checking out all the skyscrapers. quite a sight to behold!
laughing at what has just happened we rejoice in the fact that we still have that awesome dessert. after walking several blocks we go in the restaurant, it is quiet, cool, and nice. we order the dessert and they no longer carry it. we order our second runner up (all of which is on their menu) and they no longer carry that either. we left. we couldn't help but laugh at what a ridiculous atrocity the night turned out to be. but being in each other's company through it all is what made the night wonderful!
